Preworkout Recommendation

I am often questioned regarding what supplements I use.  I thought I would take the time to make my recommendation for a commonly asked about supplement, preworkout. A preworkout is rather self explanatory– a supplement you take before your workout with the intention of making the most–and getting the most, out of your workout.  Usually preworkouts include a stimulant for energy and a slew of other supplements that may give you a head ache if you try to read the ingredient list.  Finding a good preworkout supplement that worked for me was harder than I thought it would be.  I found many to include way too much caffeine and other stimulants causing me to be jittery and scatter brained.  I also found that certain ingredients, such as niacin, in some preworkouts cause me to feel like I’m crawling out of my skin, itchy, and hot.

My MUSTS in a preworkout:

Creatine– Creatine increases your bodys’ ability to produce the energy, ATP, required when working out.  With additional energy you will be able to work out harder and/or longer.  Studies have shown, when combined with weight lifting, there was a noticable increase in lean muscle mass for athletes that supplemented with 5 grams of creatine monohydrate daily.

Beta Alanine– Beta alanine increases carnosine, an amino acid, in your body.  Increased carnosine allows for longer, more intense workouts.  Beneficial for both cardiovascular endurance and weight training.  Studies have shown the supplementation of beta alanine linked with the preservation of muscle mass when cutting or dieting.

I have bought each separately and mixed together for a preworkout, but it is cheaper and easier to find a preworkout with a beneficial amount of each.  My recommendation is “MEGAWATT V2” by 1st Phorm. According to the ingredient list, it contains Creatine Monohydrate 2500 mg + Beta-Alanine 1500 mg.   I will usually supplement 2500 mg additional of creatine monohydrate to equal a total of 5 grams each day.

This particular preworkout ALWAYS gives me just enough energy to have a great workout!  I am never jittery– just the right amount of caffeine for steady focus and power!  I can use this before weightlifting OR cardio— without making me nauseated or giving me indigestion.  If you’d like to purchase MegaWatt check out www.rxrachael.1stphorm.com to receive free priority shipping from 1st phorm.

  1. Hi! How do I get the free priority shipping? I’ve used your link and have tried several times but it keeps trying to charge me $7.30 for priority shipping. There are no free shipping options. Also, any flavor suggestions? I chose watermelon but wondering if you’ve tried them all and have a preference?
